Aged Dependent Visa

This visa is for aged persons who rely on a relative of Australian citizen or permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen for all or most of their living costs. This visa requires that the applicant is sponsored by their relative in Australia.

Application made Inside Australia (Aged Dependent Relative Visa: (Subclass 838): The applicant must be in Australia at the time of application and at the time of visa grant.

Application made Outside Australia (Aged Dependent Relative Visa: Subclass 114): The application must be made outside Australia and the applicant must be outside Australia at the time of visa grant.

Basic Requirements for Aged Dependent Visa:
Age Must be 65 years
Relative in Australia Must have a relative who is settled Australian citizen or permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen and usually resident in Australia.
Sponsorship Must be sponsored by an eligible relative who must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or an eligible New Zealand Citizen and usually resident in Australia.
Assurance of Support Must have a commitment by a person or an organisation prepared to provide you with an Assurance of Support
Marital status Must demonstrate that you do not have a spouse (married or de facto)
Dependency Must demonstrate that for at least three (3) years you have been wholly or substantially dependent on your relative in Australia for financial support for your basic needs of food, shelter and clothing or because you have a disability which prevents you from working.

*Every applicant will have to pass all health and character requirements before granting this visa
