Child Visa

If you are a dependent child (natural, adopted or step child) of a settled Australian citizen or permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen, you may be eligible to apply for a permanent visa. Application can be made inside or outside of Australia. This visa requires sponsorship from your parent in Australia.

Basic Requirements for Child Visa:

Age

Must be under 18 years, in some cases under 25 years.
Sponsorship Must be the natural, adopted or step child of their sponsor who must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or an eligible New Zealand Citizen.
Marital Status Must be single. Must not be married, in a de-facto relationship or engaged to be married.
Dependency Must be dependent on their sponsor

If you are Inside Australia :

Child Visa (Onshore) (Subclass 802)

If you are a child of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen, this visa allows you to remain in Australia permanently with your parent.

Orphan Relative Visa (Onshore) (Subclass 837)

This permanent visa is for children from overseas under 18 years of age, whose parents are unable to care for them. It allows a child who is an orphan relative of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen, to remain in Australia.

Dependent Child Visa (Subclass 445)

This temporary visa is for a natural, adopted or step child of a parent who holds a temporary partner visa (subclasses 309 or 820)or temporary Interdependency visa (subclasses 310 or 826) and has not yet been granted a permanent partner visa.

 

If you are Outside Australia:

Child (Permanent) (Subclass 101)

If you are a child (under 25 years of age) of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen, you will be eligible to apply for this permanent visa.to travel to and remain in Australia.

Orphan Relative (Permanent) (Subclass 117)

This permanent visa is for children from overseas under 18 years of age, whose parents are unable to care for them. It allows a child who is an orphan relative of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen, to remain in Australia.

Adoption (Permanent) (Subclass 102)

This permanent visa is for children under 18 years of age from overseas, who have been adopted, or are about to be adopted by an Australian citizen, Permanent resident, or an an eligible New Zealand citizen. An adoptive or prospective adoptive parent acts as a sponsor for the child and usually lodges the visa application on behalf of the child.

Dependent Child Visa (Subclass 445)
